It seems like there are quiz nights in most of the bars in Calis in the Winter months. It is a way of drumming up trade. There are a couple more in Fethiye. We know someone who goes to a different quiz night 7 nights a week. They are usually very popular and the bars get quite full. I'm not familiar with the word "cogin" lol.

Monday and Thursday
Kosem Quiz starts at 8.45pm some very serious "quizzers" but the best fish and chips. near opposite road to Yakamoz restaurant. ALL YEAR ROUND

Tuesday
Pazar Cafe 8.30pm you had better be serious!  All year Round

Wednesday 8.30pm
shamrock Bar Calis, pick and mix brigade, a couple of serious "quizzers" like being at school and write shielding your answers! Maybe ALL YEAR ROUND

Friday Nil Bar on the Calis Prom, Winter Only 8.30pm
winter Only

Saturday Han Bar again on Calis Prom   8.30pm

Gordon goes to all of them,  get to hear of the arguments later when he gets home, I am sure most of the (near to retirement age) adults revert back to their second childhood at the quiz, but then again some have never left their first childhood. and all the insults thrown for a bottle of Efes! : :)

How about supporting this one as a one off event?

CARNIVAL QUIZ AND GRAND NATIONAL FUN NIGHT

We are pleased to announce that the Calis Carnival Committee is presenting a grand Carnival Quiz and Grand National Fun Night at the Mimoza Restaurant on Calis Seafront on Friday 4 April.

We are inviting teams (or individuals) to take part in a fun quiz and be in with a chance of being crowned Carnival Quiz Champion(s) of Calis.

The entry fee will be 1 lira per person which will go towards the Carnival charity. Teams will be limited to a maximum number of six people, and the winning team will not only win a round of drinks but will be presented with a trophy to be displayed on their mantel piece or in a bar or restaurant of their choice for the coming year.  So all you quiz teams out there who think you are good, get down to the Mimoza Restaurant on Friday 4 April and prove yourselves the best! ;)

After the quiz you will be given the chance to purchase a horse for the following day's Grand National horse race being held at Aintree racecourse. There will be a large food and drinks hamper for the winner as well as prizes for 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed.

Please come along and support local children's charities and have a really fun evening along the way.
 :)
