That works out for a family of 4 £616. For that you are telling me you can go on boat trips go to the water park. eat out every evening including drinks.Including all tips etc. travelling expences.Buying gifts to take home. Noway. Not unless you just eat rice lettuce and chips everyday,and drink water.and lock the kids away for the whole 2 weeks

Thanks for all your input.  I think I will plan £100 per day and see how we go.  

Just one thing I picked up on was in Davey's response where he mentions tips.  What tends to be the norm?

It covers what we need it for, which is just food - 2 kids meals 1 adult meal and a bottle of water and drinks during the day, we buy food in for the apartment for during the day which saves a fair bit - and a few pressies for home.
We rarely do any trips or anything which is why we can get away with so little

baby boo.  Exactly!  You are talking about just one adult meal and 2 kids meals/drinks during the day.Nothing else as you dont do trips etc.The average family on their first holiday to Calis I would sugest would want to do as much as possible.We are also talking about 2 adults and 2 kids here which your are not.
As for tipping I would say 10% is about the norm for a family.

As a couple we manage on about £1000 over 14 days which is abut £70 a day. I would work on £100 a day with 2 kids.

No I did not mean for a family of four Davey and certainly would not dream of locking my children away and not including them, I was talking about a sad singleton having a good time for that price!
E.g Boiled eggs and fresh bread for brekky about 40p.
Lunch more fresh bread salad and sliced meat about 60p.
Evening meal at Aydin Pide massive portion of fresh salad, lovely hot mushroom pide and hot buttery bread (again massive)around £1.30 all washed down with four large Efes at just over £3, still had enough left out of £11 for more large Efes at another bar.
Atmosphere and friendliness off all the waiters and owners of the places I visited priceless.
It is a different thing all together when you have children with you that need entertaining and as other people have said if you choose to go on trips etc.
