Mark,  I don't begrudge the turkish people anything at all you are missing my point,  but when all the big boys get in here as it seems they will now, what happens to the smaller turkish food places that can't survive because of them??!!..

We love Fethiye/Calis and bought there because it was not like the Spains, Cyprus etc with commercial burger places all over.....I guess nothing lasts forever........I just think it spoils the place as as Charles has said there are turkish places that serve really good burgers/fast food etc if thats what you want, I am not arguing just saying how I feel.

What people have got to remember that Fethiye is a working town and most towns back home have some kind of fastfood outlets whether its BK,McDs or KFC,the people who live there are entitled to a choice as well as the rest of us, there are plenty of places in Fethiye that you can get traditional food if that is what you like, personally i dont eat in these places at home and wont eat in them in Fethiye but the choice is there if you want it,give me turkish food all the time, i like the turkish fast food, a half loaf with chicken kebab meat.

Have you considered that maybe in the eyes of the local populace,
the place began to get spoiled when foreigners were allowed to purchase homes there?

Have you considered that it never seemed to bother them when they had one for sale, built them, worked on them and sold them?

I think its good to have a mix of food places available.  I am totally sure that Burger King, and even if MacDonalds come too, that they will cause very little, if any, problems for the smaller Turkish takeouts-such as the Doners etc.  I say this because, although my Turkish hubbie will eat at Burger King and MacDonalds on rare occcasions he only does it for me, and would rather have a home cooked turkish meal or Doner kebap anyday.  His Mum and Dad would try it, but only the once, and the same rule applies for the rest of his family.  Turkish people love their traditional meals, and home cooked delights.  I reakon the milkshakes and ice creams will be hit with the youngsters though-my apsolute favourites.

Bit behind guys, but where abouts is BK in Fethiye? and are the prices the same as at Dalaman airport? Just want to let my friend know who is in Hisaronu as they seem to travel to Marmaris once a month to get a BK/Maccy D's and dont think they know about Fethiye. Thanks

Almost opposite Carrefour.

Nowhere near as expensive as at Dalaman.
