When the rate inevitably reaches single figures the net cost of living will be virtually on a par with UK for those using intrest accts as main income,
ie 9% savings rate with 7/8% inflation =  UK 2% Savings rate with 0-1% inflation

i will still settle for 12.5% or 10%..still a damn sight better for savers than in uk.....better living here,better way off life:D

inflation rate in turkey is falling and will fall more, as internetional sales dry up and domestic market stands still or slightly declines. interesting to see that the lira dispite the drop in interest rates hasn't gone into free fall like sterling. this years tourist figures will be very interesting and it's not the time for airlines or airport operators to put up hurdles

Does anyone know, has the interest rate dropped before in turkey then gone up again after a few months ?  someone told me this has happened before.
