« on: April 10, 2009, 23:12:19 PM »
well i was stopped at dalaman airport on my return journey to the uk
my bag was searched and they found 12 sleeves of cigarettes (west lights)
they then questioned me about my stash ,luckily enough my old dad was in front so i put the onus on him  and told them i had 5 he had 7 the  man on the desk said okay took my passport wrote something down returned my passport and let me go ,i was then waiting in robbery row ( the food court) i thought to myself might as well go the full hog so i bought the mother in law some embassy no 1  and low and behold the same officer packed my bag didnt give a hoot as the girl on the checkout was better looking than me ,well i crapped myself all the way back to birmingham (i'm going to get stopped ,they've telephoned through ect ect )arrive in birmingham not a sinner on customs ,
morale of the story

:D Kanga, they were doing that last year, on the 2nd scanner,we were well over but they just made notes and asked for passports etc, I asked him why, and he said something to do with the sales in duty free,? but nothing to worry about,(I think), pity you got west lights though, ;)

I got my passport taken for notes twice, once was my infamous p0rno smuggling incident (my music CD collection coming home) and the second one was when I had the audacity to have a Panasonic bread maker in one of our cases. Maybe they thought it was a crack cocaine refiner or something.
