Hubby paid 17 lira for a haircut and a shave when we were over a couple of weeks ago. He was thrilled with this price (about £7). He even left the change of a 20 lira note as a tip! He pays about £10 at home just for a quick cut, and the job is done in a few minutes flat, with all the usual idle talk ("you going out tonight?"/"been working today?"/"going on holiday in the summer?" etc etc).
In Calis, for his £7, he was pampered just like us women are! He was in the hairdressers for about an hour, and said it was the most relaxing hour of his life!! The haircut was good too.
It was the first time he had had a haircut and shave in Turkey, and he can't wait to come back in August, where he will happily pay this price again. I suppose if you live there, you've got time to shop around and find the best price. I guess you pay what you feel happy to pay, and if it keeps him happy - £7 is well worth it.
