Fellas, look after yur girls, and if some slimeball does anything untoward, twat him,the same as we would back home. The next lemon cologne seller that tries to spray his wares on my girlfriend and rub it in will see how far them large bottles can be administered in an unconventional manner of the sphincter muscle variety! No thanks means NO THANKS!

I think we need to keep things in perspective.

It is NOT the case that all Turks are out to take advantage of females from the UK, & women should not be afraid to wear clothes appropriate to being in a hot holiday environment.

Rather, it is that, in common with other areas, world-wide, unfortunately, we have a few perverts pestering women & thinking they can get away with it.

I would suggest that, in the absence of the appropriate police intervention, that women carry Mace pepper spray & be prepared to use it if need be.

Also, if someone would act as a "decoy" & then some likely lads "sorted out" the perv/s it would send out a message to the low-lifes that they could get hurt while pestering women & hopefully this would deter them from their "activities".

This is a situation that should be sorted out by the authorities but if they won't then..........

I am going to Calis in 3 weeks with my pretty blonde wife, and my 17 & 14 year old daughters. I can assure you if any of this behaviour goes on I WILL be handing out good old fashioned British justice. I was in Dalyan last year and Yalikavak 2 years ago and never encountered anything like this.

Let's keep this in perspective, I lived in Calis for 5 years and never once saw anything like this.

I feel this topic is getting a little out of hand, a few members are making Calis sound like a no-go area, whereas nothing could be further from the truth, yeah ok some Turks find English Girls/Women fascinating and stare, whistle or try to chat them up, doesn`t that happen in England ?
I`ll reiterate what Scunner has said, I lived in/visited Calis for five years and not once did I see an English woman attacked by a Turk.

I have not seen a woman attacked in Scotland but it does not mean it doesn't happen.
However as you say keep it in perspective but be aware that these things happen, like in any other country.

Nobody is saying it doesn't happen Heather. Just that it is rare, possibly not obvious from reading this topic in isolation. The important thing is to make people aware that it is not unheard of. I was very much switched on to the sound of a moped coming along behind me after hearing of attempted bag snatches. The very sound alerted me without thinking. If this topic has worried someone about their decision to visit Calis and Fethiye then it is right to explain the reality. More importantly, if it has alerted one person or family to be a little more vigilant, then we did our job  :)

It does happen in Scotland but the police take a serious view of it and try to do something about it unlike the police in Calis seem to be doing. If it was a tourist doing the same to a Turkish woman I wonder what would happen.
