The first time we went we took a coach trip, but then we had to wait for everyone else to get back and the time dragged a bit.  In a car you can please yourselves when you go and come back.
We usually go in the car, it's about 1 hours drive.  It's not much to get in, but remember to wear shorts or cut off trousers, as when you go into the water your legs will get quite wet.

A good day out in the car would be firstly visit Tlos look at the ruins etc.,  Then drive up to Yaka Park (get the right one there are a couple of fakes).  Sit under the cool trees and see the trout in the big ponds, then have one barbequed for your lunch... delicious.  Then in the afternoon
drive on to Saklikent.

we went by dolmus last summer about an hour each way .in august theres no water at the top end of the gorge so cross the water at the river and climb through the gorge if your feeling energetic, dont forget to take some water with you ,we also had a guide to get us through because in places quite tough we just give him a few lira when we got back ,brilliant day out doing it again this august
