Have you ever heard the Muslims complain about it?

or is it a fear by you of what they are thinking?

In Spain I wouldn't parade past their churches/walk about in town wearing a bikini.  Likewise in the UK I wouldn't parade about semi naked unless I was on a beach.  No fear in it.

Some Muslims prefer women to be covered.  This country has a wide range of styles of dressing.  I would be surprised though if they approved of half naked women and men moseying about their town and outside their Mosques.

Has anyone asked a cross section of Turks?   Not that it will make any difference to what happens, people will continue to dress they way they always have.

I have heard of women in  Egypt being spat on for wearing short skirts.
Ok ,Turkey is more liberal but there is still the matter of respect.  Keep it for the beach.

You go to any resort town in England and people will be walking around semi naked around the town.

Whilst I do agree with the sentiment, if it is not against the law (topless sunbathing is), who are we to try and dictate what people wear (or don't wear), freedom of choice still exists even in Turkey.

Don't forget, if you have a garden or a swimming pool that can be seen from a public place you are commiting the same "crime" if you have your shirt off or are in a swim suit.

Totally agree, a bit of respect for local customs.
It's rather sad that there are one or two expat residents who walk around the village with no shirt etc as well.
