make up an invoice for each share and haveit authorised via a noter and have it served on him by a solicitor. This might scare him a bit because if he doesn't pay it can go to court and the court can order seizure of belongings, etc. It would probably be enough to give him a scare at the initial stages.

Hi Yasemin,
There is honestly no point to doing this as this man has not paid his water bill for over a year, and his electricity is cut off monthly, and he hasn't got many posessions. He has told 1 owner here that he will pay this year, but I am not holding my breath. The other owners are not keen to take legal action because of the possible costs, and also because as they are only here for a few weeks they want to be able to relax' meanwhile we are all paying 25% more this year.If no money is paid this year then maybe legal action will be taken next year.....Watch this space!!!

We have the same problem in our small complex of 8 apartments.  We are currently only receiving 7 contributions.  2 of the apartments are Turkish owned - one pays and one does not.  So far we are manging to cope with the financial situation and have not had to increase payments for this year.  But next year that will have to change and how long will it be before the other Turkish owner stops paying?

We have suffered with Turkish neighbours. We own an apartment, one of 6, we are the only English owners and 2 are empty, we are therefore the only people who maintain the pool. Whenever we come over or have guests we have to arrange for the pool to be cleaned and filled and cover all of the costs ourselves! They say they will contribute when all the apartments are full!!

One option here may be to call the Mugla governor help line.If enough people use this facility they can use the local zabita to resolve this problem at no cost.It was used by a number of individuals some time ago with success, but has probably been forgotten.

This would have been my suggestion. The problem trying to resolve these issues locally is two fold: Language barrier and you never know what relationship the purpetrator has with the local official?

Most local officials will not argue with the governors office. The people on the complaints site I am told speak good english and were chosen because of it.
