From what i've read,they fire a rocket propelled grenade across the bows then aim the next one at the bridge,as a threat.I would have thought that if a good selection of marine traffic in that area were to carry two or three heavily armed marines,(48 if they're French)At the first sign of trouble,sink the pirates.Other pirates would then have to decide if it was a worthwhile occupation.

I hear that the pirates when they see a war ship coming there way dump guns and mobiles etc over board so that tha naval ship can't get any evidence, us a sub and sink them,or if the cia can intercept calls from mobiles anywhere on the planet as I suspect they can, why don't the powers that be use that info pin point the location after tapeing conversation, then just sink ship.a more severe form of water boarding.
