You may have a problem this year when you come to insure it (unless you have previously had a residence permit), apparently if your records show no kimlik No it has been taken out of the registration  system and you will not be able to insure the vehicle until it is produced.

I read this on another forum where people have been complaining because they have been refused motor insurance in the last few days.

This is a very dispraportionate increase especially as some nationalities pay very little, or nothing as pointed out.

Unfortunately this is a country where people broadly speaking avoid paying tax so the govt take where they can like with cigarettes recently doubled in price, alcohol and the killer - petrol - most expensive in the world I believe.

This is just another example and sadly we Brits bear the brunt of this one.

It is unfair but the Turkish government have done it because the British government have put up the price of visa's for turks who want to go to England, pity we have to suffer but more and more people will go to meis for their stamp, good business for them!!

If the British have increased the price of visas for Turks visiting Britain, how can you say it is unfair? That would be entirely fair.

I can answer the question about cars. The same rules apply for all foreign registered vehicles, except commercial vehicles, in the UK. They are only allowed in for 6 months in any 12, before they must either leave the UK or re-register as an imported vehicle. However, the rules aren't applied as strictly as they are in Turkey.
