Yusuf, the next time someone comes to your restaurant in Turkey and says it is too hot in your Country and the beer is too expensive I think it would be quite right to say that they are talking rubbish! These are the same English people that moan about everything when they are at home as well, so don't listen to them when you are in Turkey or in England is my advice!

"this is your own country and you can do whatever you want with it"

Thanks for that, how magnanimous of you.

So, seeing Polish people in England is a bad thing is it, how long will it be before you regard seeing English people in Turkey as a bad thing I wonder.

May I suggest that it is you that has been brainwashed or are you  just listening to people that support your own narrow minded view,
the latter I expect. England is so much more than cold weather, fish and chips and polish immigrants, go and look at it with an open mind
you might just learn something.

Sorry but i agree with yusuf... I dont think he has said anything offensive about England- The weather is dire, you only need to look out of your windows to see that, and there are far too many poles over here.

I think the country has spiraled into one that puts political correctness before its people.. I'm not a racist and i dont care for those who are- i think its vile. However, we live in ENGLAND, ENGLISH people (regardless of race, gender etc) should be given priority especially where jobs are concerned. Many people are out there looking for work who have lost jobs and would be grateful for ANY job but we just dont have enough to go around. If we have a shortage in the system and it would be beneficial to draft in foreign workers then i believe they should be given jobs, taxed and allowed use of our free health care etc- but not before our own.

There are many english folk who sit on the dole, who can work but dont and choose to sponge off our system- In my opinion, they should be limited to how long they can claim benefits for- if the government doesnt pay them- they'd be forced to work. I think those who arnt working because they cant be bothered and arnt contributing to our system shouldnt be entitled to free medical care either. There are people out there who cant have the medication they need for serious illnesses from our "free health care system" because we cant afford it- why should they suffer so the doley who's sat on his backside for god knows how long can trot off down the docs and get free medicine whenever?

I could rant on this topic all night, but i wont bore you all any longer..

All that was said in the original post was how bad the weather is (which it is) and how there are alot of polish here (which there are)... how did it become such a political debate? Some people are being far too defensive of our lovely country, which is in a dismal state, to put it mildly and the petty name calling is just childish.

We're all entitled to our opinions, we dont all have to agree with one another, just respect each others views and play nicely :D

YtokgozI am glad that you are able to comment on this forum it is interesting to hear a Turkish persons opinions.

As I have said earlier, many Turkish people are already employed in Britain and own their own businesses too.I am sure if you search around Chelmsford and Ipswich you will find some.I know the area well. They certainly appear to be happy in Britain and funnily enough say it is too hot in Turkey when I have had a chat with some. They may have been joking though. There are some beautiful villages in Suffolk and if you are interested in art the artist John Constable painted many landscapes in that area.

Would you employ a European person in your restaurant if Turkey enters the EU? Would people be allowed to start up a business as the Turkish do in Britain?

Unfortunately there are many expats and tourists who come to Turkey and say exactly the same as Yusuf has said about the UK, so I don't think we can blame him for what he has written. Yes there are many great things about the UK, there are also many bad things...I'm pretty sure the same could be said about any country in the world.

Nicely put Laurie,we all have opions on this subject ,it is just a pity that if you disagree with the certain more liberal members you are branded a bigot .Yusaf expressed his opinion as a visitor to our country as he sees it .

Hey just come in and found this topic!
I have never been a racist and didn't vote to go in the EU all those years ago!
What I object to are the people who come into the the UK specifically to sponge..... don't know why on this thread people are picking on the Poles.  Do people realise thaat anyone who is entitled to work in the UK on minimum wage are then allowed to claim Child benefit, family credit etc.
Myself and Hubby both work full time, had 2 kids and were not eligible to claim anything - not even rate rebate but they can come in and take the best houses, when there are no houses big enough they can go private and live in luxury at the tax payers extent.
They are then offered thousands of pounds to go home which most of them take and then come back again a few months later to start the whole process again!
There was a good item on BBC news earlier where Eastern Europeans were being paid to go through an arranged marriage with Pakistani/Indian people so that they could then apply to stay here, divorce the wife and then bring their own families over here to sponge even more......
How long can the British taxpayer keep doing this?  We have enough paying for the young people here who cannot get apprenticeships, work etc (Not including the ones who don't want to work)

Think I have ranted enough going to find solace somewhere in the snow!
