I have slipped big time over the summer and joined SW with my daughter.  Still not behaving as well as I should and definitely not drinking enough fluid.
I lost five in two weeks and gained one this week.
My daughter who had a hip op at 30 year old and was unable  walk far managed to lose 7 lb in two weeks.  Proud of her. ;D
Well done Loz,  that is some will power you have to lose all that without the pressure of having to answer to someone.  You must feel so much better for the loss.
NB  It is not easy when you are not able to move around to lose weight but it is not forever.
GB you are doing well.
Ladydiver.  I will be good if you will...lol
Good luck all..xx

Time to revive this thread I think. I have been so busy with student admissions at University and under some serious pressure/ stress. But I've kept in with it and even though I've had small gains and losses I've nOt made much headway but hopefully I'm putting that behind me with a 2.5 pound loss meaning a 2 stone 1 pound total loss. I'm really proud of myself ( I know it sounds corny) but I've stick with it when the going was tough and hopefully I'm back on track. Time think about the Christmas dresses ladies!

How is it all going?
I was worried about getting on those scales after 5 weeks in Turkey, we have been back nearly a week now and I closed my eyes waiting for the shock, and a shocker it was.  gained only 1lb!!!!!!!!!
so my 23lb loss is now 22 so off to start all over again, just intime for Christmas!!!

Brilliant!!!  Well done you.

I'm doing a diet I found in a book called Neris and India's Idiot Proof Diet.  I'm loving it.  It's a bit like the Atkins diet but somehow easier.  I thought at first I'd miss the carbs but I don't and I feel so much better.  I have problems with losing weight because I have polycystic ovaries and I don't process glucose properly but this diet works for me.  I wouldn't say the weight is dropping off but I've lost a stone since the beginning of September so I'm happy.

 ;D

Well done you, 1 stone since September if fantastic, don't put it down, keep at it.
I am doing mine alone, no groups etc.. but find just dipping into the thread is enough to keep me going, I would hold my head in shame should I fail :(  but I am not going to !!!

Hi ladies, firstly I want to apologise for not being around for a very long time and secondly thought I would boost this thread. Last year ended up being slightly horrendous in the fact I had a foot op to remove a tumor (benign phew) but that is now back, and thats another story! and then my OH was hit by a car, hes a MOD and drives a Vespa and a car came out of no where and smashed into him, so I ended up looking after him (hes on the mend thank god) plus the usual strains that happen to everyone, all while we were doing out house up which took 11 months but we all go there. Didnt head to Turkey last year :( which we missed a lot but heading there this year (Yay)! SOooooooooooooo anyway that has resulted in me putting 1.7stone! AHHHHHHHH first time in years ive really put on, ive lost 10lbs since XMas but still a way to go. So how is everyone? Weight loss going OK? or not? Is everyone happy to revive this thread and let me nag at you? ha ha. Hope to hear from you soon. Anna xxx

Have you tried to 5 - 2 diet anyone? It really works! For women you can have up to 500c per day on diet days (men600) and eat normally the other 5. It's been in all the papers so look it up on google. The good thing is that it's do-able because its not every day. I think it's best to have 2 non consecutive days say Monday and Thursday. It has several health benefits, cholesterol, BP etc.

Just the thought of dieting every single day is demoralising and often unsustainable. This way you can also choose diet days to coincide with social events etc and as long as you stick to the 500c on the 2 diet days the weight comes off and stays off. When your weight gets down to where you want it, you can just do 1 day per week. Apparently this is how French women are generally slim, to maintain a slim figure they don't eat on Thursdays - lol.

I lost a lot of weight some years ago (7st) and have managed to keep it off to a great exent, but it is a lifelong commitment, If you have a tendency to put it on as I do it is very difficult to maintain. We all know that to lose weight you need to move more and eat less, but if only it were that simple. It really is about state of mind. I have dabbled with Atkins and Dukan etc which do work for a quick fix, but the only sure way is a change of life. Good luck!!
