We are trying our best!!
When people view the You Tube video they see exactly the size of the 'Puddle'.  It is to house 2 dolphins - the conditions not only for the dolphins but for humans will be intolerable!  If you have read the posts from the 'Dolphin Angels' you will be aware of the diseases that people can catch!!  Don't forget this 'Puddle' is being opened under the guise of 'Therapy' for mainly sick people.  When people are sick they are open to all kinds of infections!
Obviously no pictures of the real site will be shown in brochures, leaflets, advertisements, etc.
The information is on this thread what can be done!!  We need everyone to keep getting involved, whether it is through the forum or through private e mails we need to share information!!
I fortunately am in the position of having a bit of time on my hands so regularly trawl other sites and report back here and there religiously!
People power does work!!

We have a campaign with several lines of attack,
1. Notifying every official involved that this pool does not meet any of the E E A M standards which it was promised by the owner that it would meet. These standards are to protect the public and the dolphins.

2 Educating the public on the conditions of the pool, and why it does not meet the standards, Also, keeping the public abreast of the campaign. Please pass the word on to local buisinesses, friends and family who are living here or coming on holiday.

3 Finding out which travel agents will support or not support the dolphinarium and make this public knowledge. Making travel agents aware that customers may vote with their feet!So please ask your travel agent and post your response. We can read this and so can they!

4 Geting animal welfare organisations involved, it does not matter if they are over seas, they will write a letter to the authorities here if you provide them with contact details. Their letters will demonstrate a global concern, which is important.

5 Offering advice regarding how to help, who to write to etc as each new important contact detail is found. Ask your friends to look at this forum, trip advisor, facebook etc and contribute.

We know that it is only the constant barrage of emailing and telephoning, especially regarding tourism and the bad press regarding Hisaronu, that makes the authorities take note.

SO PLEASE, READ PREVIOUS POSTS ON THIS FORUM.YOU WILL FIND THE CONTACT DETAILS OF OFFICIALS, TRAVEL AGENCIES, ANIMAL WELFARE AGENCIES, EVEN PRINCE CHARLES AND MANY MORE BESIDES.
WHO EVER YOU CHOOSE TO WRITE TO OR TELEPHONE, YOUR ONE CONTACT COULD JUST MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.

TODAY THE PLANTS WERE BEING PUT INTO THE GROUND, ALREADY THE WATER IS IN, ALREADY THE FENCES ARE UP, AND ALREADY THE FIRST OFFICIAL INSPECTION HAS BEEN MADE!
ASK YOU FAMILY, ASK YOUR FRIENDS, FOR JUST ONE EMAIL AND WRITE WRITE WRITE.

Once the dolphins are in and the first tourist has bought a ticket it will be sadly be too late.

Maybe another contact to try.
This is a quote from Ric O'Barry (flipper guy) in the closing of the documentary 'The Cove'.....''if there is a dolphin in trouble anywhere in the world I will go and try to save it''......
You can send him a message on his Facebook page Richard O'Barry.  Sorry can't find an e mail address for him.

The dolphins are going to be in a small pool between a chinese restaurant and an Irish bar( all night dancing advertised). If anyone had said I would one day see that I would have laughed and not have believed it could happen.

We have already visited the Fethiye Mayor and also the Kaymakam who is above the mayor and have given copies of the standards in English and Turkish. If the dolphins are to be moved from Kas, then by the standards there must be authorisation given by government aurthorities.
We have previously mentioned the importance of Mr Osman Kurt and the Vali Dr.Altirparmak in Mugla, but now we think we ought to target the Kas authorities too!
Anyone out there who can provide the Vali s name for Antalya or any official for agricultural affairs will definately win a browny point. Then we can send the standards in Turkish to them too.

Remember when writing, it is the detrimental effect on tourism and the health and safety angles that seem to cause the most concern! Regrettable the animal welfare issues seem less important than profit.

We believe in Ankara there is a minister for marine animals, possibly called Mrs Rahdiar, two browny points for getting her contact details!!

Also lets not forget our local travel agencies enquiries, lets make sure they are aware that customers may vote with their feet. Please post any results.

We must have many readers in the Hisaronu area, please please could you enlighten all of the buisinesses there, from cafes to hairdressers, gift shops to travel agencies.

so lots to do. The dolphins lives are dependant on us and every letter we write.
