"Dolphinarium plans create major protest"

We know, and the Russian does, that the pool does not meet any of the EEAM standards.
The public at large will feel that if it is up and running then it must be OK and must have authorities approval.

That is why, displaying the Russian as some kind of benevolent, animal loving buisness man can easily woo people into thinking he knows best and has the animals interest at heart.
Yes, to us in the know, the article will disgust us, because it has put a really good spin on the outpourings of this money orientated project in a totally biased way.

All good news items should surely incorporate fact not fiction and be a balance of opinion, with each argument being conteracted, in order for the public to really make up their minds.
Just recording a one sided, biased view, ie the investors opinions,
does not help anyone make a sound judgement.

Now we must hope that the Huriyet will devote as many columms to our view of the facts, if they truly are unbiased.
Please do write to the Hurriyet expressing your views.

I have just looked on tursiops.org and there the article is proudly displayed. Please join and add your comments.

I have just dropped a line to the Editor.

Sir,

I have read with great interest and disappointment your article, dated 10th of May 2010, regarding  the new Dolphinarium in Hisarönü.

On behalf of our Turkish hosts I find it insulting to allow Mr Kuznetsov to infer that they are unable to form their own opinions and that they have  followed the lead of only a few
 expats.

These are todays figures for the World Wide Opposition to Hisaronu Dolphinarium

Figures correct 10th May 2010

If you or your staff are able take the time to read these petitions you will find that the large majority of the signatures  are from Turkish citizens and show the number of people who contribute to the "few".

I sincerely hope that , at the earliest opportunity, you will interview the organisers of this protest and allow them the opportunity to voice their opinion and to give you some well known basic scientific facts about European and International standards,  living conditions, the suitability of the site chosen, disease transmission and water quality etc..

This is the 21st century  I had hoped that the wildlife programmes, which abound in Turkey and around the world, would have shown that this is not the way a civilised society behaves towards these beautiful creatures.

Yours Faithfully

Paul Beal

My post to the Hurriyet (which I sent about 10 mins ago) has gone on so it might be worthwhile trying to post again
