I too had the message from facebook-and was worried.  Pleased to hear that you have the tourism office onside-if they can't use thre venture with tourists than of course there is no business.  Will keep reading, and praying and hoping even if the dolphins have to be bought over for the inspection-which in my opinion will happen-they wont be there long, and the pool will be shut down.  Poor Dolphins.

At poolside this afternoon,
the subsidence is being rectified, the pool is now filled to the top with water again.
The russian obviously thinks he has a chance to open it!

We now have copies of the Turkish Laws Regarding Animal Welfare

If the Russian is reading this...we suggest that he too reads them with interest
!

There are laws in place to protect animal welfare, and there are heavy penalties imposed on those that inflict cruelty.

We will shortly be posting those articles that we feel relevant, and the authorities will be informed that WE KNOW of them.

Just had a meal in Hisaronu and walked past the dolphin puddle. Opposite the puddle are three huge bins overflowing with  rubbish which is strewn around the area with cats searching for food amongst it. The empty bar next to the bins is a wreck and falling down too with a derelict garden. Why would anyone pay money to go and be confronted by a scene like that?

Because Daffodil the people who will buy tickets don't know what they are going to!  IT SOUNDS GOOD DOESN'T IT - LETS ALL GO AND SWIM WITH A DOLPHIN!  The ticket touts under the orders of the agency owners make it sound good and a brilliant 'Day out'!  The pictures of what is supposed to be there as we know will all be doctored!  Unfortunately when the people get there including any children with them they will come home very UPSET!  They will see the conditions that you describe and what the dolphins will be living in, but will they be honest enough to tell fellow holidaymakers what they actually experienced and put people off going or because they spent so much money on doing it that they wouldn't want to lose face and admit it was a MISTAKE!

The whole attraction is an absolute shambles and a disgrace. It reminds me of an old run down seaside resort that you find in the UK. The pool is actually smaller than they say it is because one end is very shallow for the idiots who want to swim with dolphins to stand in. There is a wooden hut being built that looks awful. About 25 meters away is Nadias Irish bar playing loud music.

If idiots want to swim with dolphins come to my house we have a mosaic of 2 dolphins at the bottom of the pool and I will only charge them a fiver.

Olu Deniz should hold its head in shame.

Think I would disagree with your remark regarding tourists Cheers.  IMO most tourists, when asked what they've done, where they've been etc would either say 'great day out' or 'bl***y' rip-off, don't touch'.  After all they're all in the same boat of trying to entertain the family and to pay £50 or whatever for 6 minutes with an unhappy Dolphin in a paddling pool is a rip-off.

[Any one out there actually in Hisaronu at the moment,

It is crucial that whatever shop, bar, restaurant you go into PLEASE
provide information regarding the pool. Urgently.

We are still finding total ignorance about the situation, many, many,  still believe it to be a great crowd puller!!

Please explain, that in the wild the dolphins would be swimming over 100 miles a day. These two boys were born in the wild and therefore will know what it is like to be free.

Now they will be imprisoned and all for the profit of one man.

Also add that the chlorine, which will be impossible to moniter because the pool is leaking and will be constantly topped up from a tap, will seriously affect their soft membranes, and may cause blindness.

You may like to add that the russian has said, that as the EEAM standards insist that the dolphins are kept in a quiet place, he will go around to all the bars and ask them to turn the noise down!!!

Bar owners may not like this idea too much!

Every buisiness must be made aware that this enterprise will surely link Hisaronu with animal cruelty.

The russian can always leave the country if tourism diminishes.
Local turkish buisnessmen cannot
.[/b]
