Yes, I have been searching the net but cant find anything specific to the injury Polo has.  Sorry, didnt want to worry you, but as soon as I saw the repair I remembered a Blue Peter prog saying something about being careful what you do to a shell as it is porous and grows too.  Hopefully Polo does well.

In UK sometimes if children or even adults have a broken arm or leg they can put a fibreglass cast on instead of the usual plaster one I wonder if this might have been any good because once it had healed itself the cast could have been cut off also it will be waterproof well sort of.
of course you would have made it thicker on the top and just a thin layer on the bottom so the poor thing would be able to get about.:D
