I don't think anyone would pay 65 Turkish lira for a loaf!:DBut 15 Kurus is only a few pence....hardly worth getting excited about is it..I certainly won't be. The statuary minimum weight was increased from 250g to 300g anyway :)

The point I was trying to make was that 30% is one hell of an increase in one hit. Imagine the cost of petrol, bus fares, and dare I say it, Efes, rising by 30%, not really important as compared to a staple food element.

The woman who works in the Bakery in Uzumlu said the price increase is due to a rise in the price of wheat.

The price of EFES in itself is unimportant, but keeping various hotel owners honest is!Price cartels are ilegal here and in EU.For certain individuals to force it on others is not acceptable. The large banking and analyst organisations use the Macdonalds index (the price of a big mac) to track real inflatory movements around the world. So the efes index is a real measure of what some bar owners would like to apply to their menus given the opportunity The cost of a bottle wholesale is still ownly just 2.11 lira. The majority of bar owners were happy to sell it at 3.50 lira and still are. Those that overprice to satisfy a minority could find their winter supporters thin on the ground.Contrary to some smart arse comments on here we are not all big drinkers but enjoy social meetings with friends as is the practice in the UK

It may well be. The price of Efes is not important, yet captainjon only comments on CBF about the price of Efes and once a year how sh*t the carnival was

And so we attempt to prevent ANOTHER topic being hijacked by the price of Efes mob, and turn our thoughts back to...

BREAD :D
