Got to agree went to curry night last night and it was superb, the whole place is so professional the waiters are very smart and the service excellent and the food superb, the curry night is every Thursday and I certainly will be going back next Thursday.
The starters are either a salad or soup and for main course there is a choice of Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Curry or Veggie Curry Capatis or Naan Bread all scrumpious. Well done Ali Yaba this is what Uzumlu has neede for a long time GOOD quality competition and Efes at 3.5 TL.

Yes, Mr Ali Yaba - please give me back the money you owe me.: :): :)  You, your lies and your greed have destroyed my life, my career and my family.:(  You made a lot of money at my expense - £100K up front in 2003 enabled you to buy cheap land in Uzumlu and helped you to start up your business with your partners.  You made me wait for over 3 years before parming me off with an overpriced apartment - because I was a "friend and not a customer" - your words not mine.  You have refused to give me the tapu so I have had no alternative but to take court action.  Yes, I should have known better than to have trusted the likes of you.  Yes, I was stupid but you misled me with your outrageous lies - deception in the first degree.  I was not the first and I doubt I will be the last - your performance was far too "polished".  Like all good con men you "hook" your victim with promises of friendship, help and trust - all lies of course - and as soon as you win their trust you "reel" them in. The part with their cash and you let them go.  Easy - just like fishing. This practise may be considered acceptable in Turkey and it appears to be condoned by the majority of the ex-pats living there, however here in the UK there are laws to stop people like you. I know you want me to go away and I will just as soon as you give me what you owe me.  Please feel free to contact my lawyer with any reasonable offer.

Mr Scunner you mention that you do not know this man, but you may know him by sight and not name.  In 2006 and 2007 he was at the Place in the Sun exhibition at the Excel centre in London.  No he did not have a stand there - he just paraded around with his laptop and Robin Hood leaflets, and could usually be found propping up the bar whilst trying to poach interested buyers from exhibitors who had paid good money for their stands.  I was surprised he was not thrown out by security. If I had paid for a stand only to find him muscling in I would not have been too happy.

Regarding the TAB story - I had known him 2 years before I parted with the money.  I happened to walk into his restaurant in Hisaronu clutching a Hanel Houses brochure and the rest was history.  The article mentions a "showdown" in the restaurant - well I can assure you that incident did not take place because I am not a confrontational person.  I could not afford to be in my job as an occupational welfare officer for a Whitehall government department - perhaps that is why I was so patient and understanding - a good quality in some cases but a weakness when dealing with people like him.

I know some members of this forum probably think I deserved what happened but I did no wrong - for God's sake I did not go there looking for trouble I holiday with my mother who is 86.  This man lied to me and made me feel sorry for him - he was getting divorced and his wife had stopped him from seeing his son.  As a single parent I could empathise with that and I felt sorry for him - my ex husband did not keep in touch with his kids and here was this man desperately trying to see his son. I was Taken in Hook, Line and Sinker.

A superbly calm and brave post Elaina. I believe money acquired by deception is cursed money, ultimately it causes huge personal unhappiness and bad luck (and often debt). You may have to be patient, but eventually...

Happiness isn't measured in cash, something we should never forget.

Thank you Mr Scunner.  I had resisted posting about this on the forum until now for fear of being ridiculed but I feel it is best to be honest and face up to what has happened as a warning to others which is why I wnet to TAB.  I have just returned home from Uzumlu - problems as usual- it would be nice to go to Turkey and have a have a holiday for once and I feel so desperately sorry for my mother - she does not have many years left.  On an apartment that is less than 4 years old I have now been told that it needs to have a complete new roof and also whilst i was there I had to pay for having the large solar tank replaced despite having no tapu- so I am not the legal owner.  I have also paid all insurances and electricity since September 2006.  I am hoping some of these expenses will be recoverable because at the end of the day legally the place is not mine. I can see the lights of this new "ALYA"  establishment from my balcony and I can also hear the music - this man is blatant and is rubbing salt in the wound - so how people can eat there with a clear conciense is beyond me - I think i would be physically sick and my loyalty for a fellow countryman would get the better of me but I have morals.  However when people move abroad they seem to leave their loyalty and scruples behind them.  Despite what has happened I still love Turkey and it is a great tragedy that people like Ali Yaba give the country a bad name - for so many of my colleagues at work the country is now firmly on their "No List". I am still in touch with Siofra from TAB because they are anxious to know the outcome of my case and I know they are considering running a few positive Turkey stories as they always seem to focus on the negative - so the ball is firmly in Mr Yaba's court so to speak.   My daughter will not come to Turkey at any price because he threatened to have her wiped out - so he is not a man to mess with and to be quite honest when I am there I am in fear but I have to go there because I have invested money there.  So many people think this will never happen to them - all I can say is "There but for thre Grace of God". Perhaps if they were to put themselves in my position they would feel differently.
