KTHY have surely got to refund if there are no available flights/seats for the date you are meant to fly. Surely this is the only hope of getting a full refund. Please help anyone with any info! I have 11 flights booked over the next four months with this airline!!!:((((

I have just spent the most frustrating two hours of my life on the phone to Barclaycard, being passed from person to person, none of whom had a clue what I was talking about, so just passed me on to someone else in yet another call centre.  I am now at screaming point, that I have got nowhere, despite being on the phone all this time!  I have listened to the on hold "tune" for so long, I was practically humming it!

Why don't the banks have specialist departments which can help people with specific problems?

I quoted Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act (NUMEROUS times!) but have still not managed to secure a claim form.

They have promised to get back to me in the next 48 hours, but I'm not holding my breath!

Please can anyone help - where should I go from here?

(Someone please email me with a joke - I'm in serious need of cheering up!!!!!)

Hi Julesbob, I contacted Barclaycard a few days ago 08448119111, spoke to a extremely helpful guy. Rahual Varadkar he was knowledgable, about claims in general received claim for 2 days later.

Thanks for that.  I was eventually given that number (after being on the phone being passed around for more than one and a half hours!) but chose a freephone number given to me by somebody at work instead.  Didn't get anywhere on that one, so, if I don't get my promised return call in the next 48 hours, I'll ring the number above.

Thanks again.  Been reading the posts on this topic on "the other" Forum.  No more news than on here really - just hoping to find something positive that I can post onto here.

Ooooh, just found something interesting - it appears that kthy have taken the money from most bank accounts separately (ie for each person) despite them all being on the same confirmation email, and on one actual booking.  As claims against credit cards are for amounts OVER £100, you may, like us, find that you are unable to claim.  We booked our flights (for three people) as single flights, as we saved more money at the time doing it this way.  Our total amount came to around £440.  Divide that between three people, then into single flights and each flight cost less than £150 return - around £75 each way.

I think I'm on a loser here as I'll possibly be unable to claim, despite the booking for each journey being around £220 total each way.

I really need to dig out my credit card statement to check this, but we booked the flights more than 10 months ago, so they've probably been thrown out (Barclaycard inform me that they're £3 a page to replace!!!)   :o

Well, I take it all back.  My faith has been restored.  Barclaycard have called me back, as promised, and given me some good news.  The guy could not have been more helpful.

They have given me a number to call (Pegasus) and told me to try and amend my flights with them, with like-for-like flights, and they will cover any difference in cost.  He mentioned Atlasjet, but when I told him I had tried to contact them, and they don't fly out of Gatwick or into Dalaman (as per my booked flights), he quickly agreed that they weren't an option then.

In the event of us not being able to get similar flights with Pegasus (which I don't want, as I have already booked with Monarch!), we can raise a dispute the day after our flight should have gone, and claim our money back for misrepresentation.  We can also claim for other substantial loss (ie difference in cost of flights, plus extras, such as the Travelodge we had booked at Gatwick etc).  I asked him if I could carry on and book other flights if Pegasus didn't have the flights we wanted, and he was happy with that.

I know this has yet to happen, and after my fiasco with Barclaycard last night, I'm sure it wont be all plain sailing (or should I say "flying"!)  I also didn't take his number, which is a bit of a pain, though I do have a name for him - probably take me till next summer to track him down again!

But maybe there is a God who's going to help us!   8)  (and hopefully he's holidaying in Calis, so sympathetic to our cause - no, not you Scunner!)  :D :) 8)

We'll see ................

Does anybody know if any of this is applicable to VISA DEBIT cards also? My flights were booked randomly...some on credit some on debit....all show as seperate transactions on statements i.e. £70 , £65 and £65 for three one way flights for me and my children.
