I repeat, has anyone had dinner at red island this season.Have you in fact been on a repeat visit Jacqui!!!!! .Keith is very sensitive to one visit posts,he does it!!!!!!!but no one else. For the view, and food quality I would suggest the Yacht Boutique.Roof top dining, fantastic view.If you are a bit of a yachty enthusiast, I would suggest the Yacht classic, you cant explain the jingling of yacht halyards for a romantic evening, with a sunset nearly as good as actually living at Calis. For a romantic evening at a galleried restaurant, overlooking the harbour, with personal attention I would suggest the Arena restaurant.Take time, have a look or mail me and I will give you all the contacts etc and they will orgonise anything you wish, cakes and all.Cant be fairer than that

I am not sensitive to one visit posts at all John, I think they are valid opinions. The "one visit post" rule was one you brought up and were alone in endorsing it!

Captainjon,

Laurack  Is looking for a special restaurant for an anniversary.  If a recommendation is made it is not mandatory to state how many visits you have made.  Recommendation is based on an really good experience.

As you are recommending three restaurants  I can only surmise you find these places better than Red Island, as you are a resident of the area, I bow to your valued advise and agree the Yacht Classic is a lovely place, hope Scunner will allow me to say that, as I have only been once.   I take it as read you must have been to Red Island lots of times, so I  am sure Laurack  would  benefit from hearing your opinion of the place, in fact I would love to hear it to, just to see if it compares with our views. :)

Once again for the hard of understanding...

I have never said that people who have only been to a place once shouldn't post an opinion on it. What I said was exactly the opposite to that - that they should post an opinion if they feel they want to.

Teshy cooler  8)

Keith, I was being cynical, I realise it's not obligatory to be a regular to a restaurant to post an opinion... Calm the Heid:D

I'll email you a smiley for your earlier post then  :)

It's strange how captainjon proclaimed that anyone who had only sampled a place once had no opinion worth listening too, then today claimed that it is me not him who thinks that!!! Very odd.

I have never heard of these restaurants. Where are they and how do we book to go to them.

Thanks Bulla
