Yawn - here we go again - rumours !!!

Thank you Pete and Chrissie.I am really pleased that you chose to put this out on the forum. Not that you or us should need to defend ourselves. We all have an idea where and who these rumours are coming from and they have no idea the upset they cause us and infact one or 2 were going to resign because of it! I would also like to comment on some of the bars in Calis who give us considerable grief and are sometimes downright nasty. I dont want to go into it all on here but this Carnival is NOT ABOUT THE BARS MAKING MONEY FOR THEMSELVES!!!! sorry to shout but I nearly resigned because of the abuse I have from particular bars just trying to help what are in fact "their" kids. However we refuse to let these saddos ruin what we are all intending to do out of the goodness of our hearts and for FREE. Just to add that Pete and Chrissie are not opening a bar either on Carnival proceeds and calling in the Carnival Bar LOL LOL xx

UNBELIEVABLE :o

These sort of people i know are very hard to ignore, but you must..

I have met Chrissy & Pete on a couple of occasions when we have taken items out for them for there charities, they are complete genuine people,  and there is NO WAY they would rip off the Carnival proceeds.

These mindless and cowardless people will never come face to face with you, they would not have the guts to do it, and it saddens me when people say these things:(, when you see what great work you all do for the local kids & families..

Come on all commitee members you are better than that and good luck for 2011....

Well I think if they were going to run off with the proceeds they'd have done it by now! It's like the pondlifes spreading the rumour that I was banned from Turkey for life - it doesn't work so well when we come back!!! I do wonder though, when I am seen all around Calis, or Pete & Chrissie arrive home from the UK, do people actually even bother tho think "well that story that ***** told me about them turned out to be total crap". Sadly I don't believe they even want to face possibility that the juicy story they helped spread is, given the facts in front of their own eyes, patently bull****.

Unbelievably next year Pete & Chrissie will give up 6 months of their lives to the carnival and when it is over head off for a well earned break - and this story will start again, 2011 version. The same people will tell the same people the same story and the same people will forget that they were told it last year and for 3 years before that and each time they failed to stay away with all the cash, probably in buckets in the boot if I know Calis gossip. They will be shocked and stunned and tell more people who will have forgotten they heard the same story last year...and you see the way it works...

The real irony is that the people behind this have generally, almost always, done nothing to help anyone but themselves to yet another Efes on yet another Groundhog Day.

I heard lots rubbish rumours , but this is one of the most disgusting one. Unfortunatelly some people do nothing, but sit in bars, and throw s**t to people who are trying to make good things.

Now why would it not suprise me to learn that this coming Carnival will be a record breaker as a gesture of solidarity for all your efforts and a slap in the face for your scurrilous detractors.Keep the faith, rise above the nonsense but above all else - keep smiling. RESPECT !!

People who spread these rumours should do so to peoples faces. Unfortunately, they spread rumours and then deny all knowledge or responsibility for their actions.
This is one of the reasons that the wife and I do not frequent 'the ex-pats bars'.We did when we first came out here, but were extremely disappointed to find that as soon as some people left the bar, others would start talking about them. Even worse, was that if they didn't have any information some juicy details would be made up! We now only keep the company of (and even talk to) a few people that we feel comfortable with.

People often judge others by their own standards and therefore it should come as no surprise that there are scum that would maliciously spread rumours about others based on how they would behave if ever they had a thought in their head that wasn't about themselves and were in Chrissie and Pete's enviable position: respected, liked, admired, dedicated, caring, selfless:

As this will never, ever be the case we can relax and be happy that we have such a great team of people that work tirelessly on behalf of others less fortunate.

Thank you to all the committee members - you make Calis a better place for all of us.

I know for fact of two people who instigated these rumours as they voiced their "concerns" to me about the money raised being used for personal purpposes by the committee. They were unaware that I am on the committee .....golly they were surprised when I let them have it with both barrels so to the two of you dont be surprised when I totally blank you next time we meet.I will also add that the same two NEVER donate in any way. They wont even buy a tombola ticket from my own charity of "Embrace" YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND SHOULD HANG YOUR HEADS IN SHAME.
