Yawn - here we go again - rumours !!!

I think best we just ignore them as best we can. We know who the main culprits are and that is enough for us. They have made their annimosity towards us plain before.  We just wanted to make people aware of these rumours should they hear them. We dont intend to stoop to their level but thank you Highlander. They just aren't worth it at the end of the day.

As a committee member, I would just like to thank all the members who comment above. What support, was feeling very low about the whole thing even thought of not bothering this year. But hey, you have given me new inspiration we have a wonderful team of workers lead by two lovely people who we all admire and respect and we will continue to collect money for the kids, with new heart after reading your support. The rumour mongers can go to hell, we know we are better than that, at least we are not full of poisonous thoughts and ideas. The only thing I can say to then is 'put up or shut up'.

"They just aren't worth it at the end of the day".

Amen to that. Hope you and the rest of the fine people involved with the Committee can maintain the spirit and sentiments expressed in your post.

Take care.

I wish you every success.

When will the page be available for requests for funding of projects for 2010 ?

I am sure all committee members appreciate the expressions of support above.

It is a sad fact of life that in every society there are members who are intellectually challenged and Calis has proved no exception. I can say that because Calis Carnival is totally transparent accounting wise and to rumour otherwise is totally rediculous.

I am sure I speak for other committee members when I say that Pete and Chrissie have our total support with plans for 2011 whatever they may be and to Murcury (Anne) I am positive that the bar and restaurant owners will discover that the hole in the top of their pockets allows money out as well as in and we'll be pleased to put any donation to good use.

Authorities allowing, may our fun-raising efforts in 2011 be the best ever :-)

To tirelessly give up such a large part of your lives for the benefit of others is truly admirable. I have never had the fortune to be in Turkey while a carnival is on but the support it gets by way of donations and hard work from the volunteers is proof enough of the dedication of the committee. When I read the first post I just thought how can someone be so hatefull to start such malitious rumours. Fortunately 4 pages of support so far just goes to show how pople really feel. Keep up the extreamly worthwhile work you all do.

I personally know one of the slanderous skip lickers.  If our paths ever cross I might just accidently trip up with a large Efes all over the person (would be a such a waste but well worth it).  Would I stoop so low YES:D
