Woke this morning to hear that the first Chilean miners had already been brought to the surface. Brilliant news. Well done the rescuers.

They said last night that wives and partners were all patiently waiting for activity around the shaft head. I suppose that's understandable after all this time.

Watched one of the miners (the 4th one I think) being brought to the surface this morning. What a wonderful sight it must have been for his family and the families of all the others still to be rescued.

A fantastic achievement for the engineers/rescuers and everyone else involved.

Let's hope now that all the miners reach the surface safely.

Agree with all the above
Four of the miners will have their wives and mistresses waiting for them, if they dare to come up. ;)

I am very impressed with the calm manner the rescuing engineers are working in.  Amazing viewing.  Immense.

Such a shame that the press trampled the tent of the family of the 1st man rescued, cretins.

Was watching the footage this morning before I left for work, and couldnt help but shed a tear of happiness for them, so very moving. But as Mike A said, im sure some are in for a slap or two once things have settled down  :) x

Fingers crossed that it continues to go well. I cannot but help draw an unfair comparison to BP. As far as I can see the Chilean guys didn't spout forward about what they were going to do, they just went ahead and did it. Well done them.
