Aung San Suu Kyi Released - BBC Exclusive

On BBC News, their reporter just told us that not only had this Burmese pro-democracy activist been released, but that he had managed to get close enough through the crowds to actually be able to ask her a question. The question he asked was...

"Are you happy to be free?" :-\

A friend of mine from America was in Burma last month.  She sent me over 100 photographs that were taken by someone with them.  They were absolutely breathtaking the country is so beautiful.  It is such a shame that the Generals have such a grip. Let's hope that with Aung San Suu Kyi's release this might change.
If anyone would like to see the photographs
Here they are   http://www.pbase.com/melamed2/myanmar

Nice pics - reminds me so much of North Thailand (away from the tourist areas). I know most of the young monks are what we would call 'naughty boys' and this is where they end up. Seems like a good idea to me.

You'd have thought that he could have managed a more sensible question eh ?

How about " Who are you tipping to win Strictly Come Dancing?"

That's what your licence fee is buying, Keith, Oh and idiots who go on "Bargain Hunt" and spend £300 each of licence fee payers cash on CRAP!!
Sorry for "veering" slightly off-topic. Great news about this remarkable woman, though. :D:D:D:D A result for Democratic insistence.
Gordy. [^]:D:D
