Quite, but not embarrassed enough to donate any of the earlier 15 years of fees to the cause.

Totally agree Keith. I, personally, would not give to this particular charity I hate all the over paid millionaire stars telling us to give. :(
Before anyone says anything, I give my time for charity events and I do not take a fee.[:X]

I didn't donate to Children in Need because a millionaire superstar asked me to or told me it was a good idea. I made the donate to help under-privileged kids.

If you want to tell the poor kid that got a new bed, that I shouldn't have tried to help him because someone somewhere got a fee, then go right ahead.

Children in Need has raised some £ 500m for children. That's good enough for me.

It's blindingly obvious that famous people, who because of their fame tend to be rich, help raise the profile of the charities they support and add to that charities ability to raise funds.

It is not a point about charities or them using famous people to raise their profile. The point is why Wogan gets paid (by the BBC) while no other staff or performers do. We fund the BBC, we were paying Wogan a fortune already. Why pay him another lump for appearing on CiN? If there is a valid answer to that, why didn't Wogan do what 99.9% of us would have done and made that his donation? The idea that the man telling me to put my hand in my pocket is getting paid 9 grand to do so makes me sick and stops me donating anything. I am sure I can't be the only one and therefore Wogan's £9,000 was very expensive to the cause.
