- 15c in York right now! Car had to have warm water put on it to open the door and it froze straight back up! Now the lock is frozen open and I can't shut the damn thing.

I'll have to wait for the sun to get on it or it's the hairdryer later.

Been for a walk for the papers and I've never felt so cold. Wrapped up like a Russian and still felt it.:(

Just been asking my better half how many days he had off from school after it had snowed? We were both brought up in Yorkshire in the era of the trolley buses. His answer like mine was none. We were allowed home early a couple of times if snow was getting deep. My senior school was 2 bus journeys. I remember at 13 walking in to town to catch the 2nd bus and praying it wouldnt turn up and yess!! it was cancelled. However lucky for us there was a teacher at the bus stop who said "come on girls we will walk" the 2 miles. How lucky were we? I remember my cold wet socks and clothes and legs red with cold to this day. Why do they close the schools so easily these days? If the heating was off we sat with coats on.. 8)

It's so cold here that the deer are in my garden again in broad daylight eating the bushes so I had to go and get some hay to feed them or I will have no plants left.  I do like to see them in the garden so I can forgive them for eating my plants, got some good photos of them again this year.

Still - 9c but at least the car door lock has thawed. Glad I'm off work until Thursday.

My pal's in Rufforth Stoop, and she moved there from Scotland to beat the winter weather!!!! ha ha ha.
Ambulance taking my father in law to hospital today had to turn back as all roads on Loch Lomonside and Dunbartonshire were grid locked due to accidents.

I can almost see Rufforth from our front bedroom window - it's about a mile as the crow flies. No gliders or microlights out today!

Hope the father-in-law is OK!
