Heatherhanim, to answer your question, I live in Fethiye but walk with my son nearly everyday to Calis for my lessons. As you suggested, I am looking for ways to interact with the local people but it isn't always easy to find those opportunities. PKHUGHES100 (Kevin and Karen), agreed, no better place to learn Turkish! What a beautiful and interesting area.
