Accomodation through TravelRepublic.co.uk (used them personally on numerous occasions and always had good service and great reliability). The Apartments below are just an example and a few cheaper ones available or more expensive if you wish. The reviews for the Apartments mentioned are not too bad considering the price (however, you can't please all the people all the time)
Miami Park Apartments in Calella -3 Star- 1 Week Stay - 11/05/2011 - 18/05/2011 on a Self Catering basis works out at £17 PP (for a full week, not per night) giving a total of £68.
As mentioned, plenty other apartments available in other resorts at similar prices.
Therefore total cost is £48 + £68 = £116 for a family of 4 therefore £29 per person for a weeks holiday.
Agreed, this is with Hand Luggage only but if my wife can manage a weeks holiday limited to 10kg then anyone can - we recently purchased a couple of cases from Argos which are ideal size and conforms with Ryanair restrictions and you can pack a fair amount in. The ones we bought are listed below - don't think these ones are still available for the £5 we got them at but gives you an example of the size of case which can count as Hand Luggage.
