Oops sorry that should have read old ledger. :)

I came across an old ledger in the office today which records the Cost of building projects from the early 1960's. Whilst acknowledging that I'm giving you very, very little information, I nonetheless thought it might be fun for people to guess the cost of a couple of projects. They are in pounds, shillings and pence by the way.

1. 107 Scottish Special Housing Association houses in Inverness circa 1966/68 and

2. Fort William Sub Division Police Headquarters circa 1969

107 House at 785 guineas each = £88,040 and six shillings (or three florins) approximately!!

The old bill shop would be £28,765 three shillings and 4pence ha'penny, although there could be Purchase tax of £467 and sixpence three farthings.

But as we saw from Scunners thread relating to Racism in Prague this will be in Scottish notes so could be lower in the world market.:D

It does your soul good to talk in proper money, although the braim has struggled with adding it up, that I do not recall from the past :)
