water bills
« on: April 25, 2011, 11:52:43 AM »
Just trying to understand the payment system.
Nobody on our complex had registered till last September(for reasons that arent relevant here)
Some people have had a bill dated December, our Turkish neighbour had a bill dated 4th April,we,however have had no bill at all.
We have seen some peoples bills slipped under the water metre lid,our neighbours was pushed into the electric metre box.
Do not all the metres on a complex get read at the same time,or could our December and April ones have got "lost"
Could we go to the Feski office and ask to pay a bill that we havent got.We dont want our water to be cut off.
Hope someone can shed light on this for us

It would partly depend on whether all houses have been continuously occupied, sometimes the bill is too small for them to bother printing it out. The bills are normally slipped under the water meter lid, however, sometimes they do get "lost" or other people take bills that aren't theirs.
There's usually no problem going to the office & paying provided you have the meter no, it on the metal plate attached to your water supply. I usually deposit 50 tl each time I go in & then I don't see another bill until my deposit has run out

If the water is now in your name you shouldn't have a problem - the Feski office has a computerised "reader" when you first go in...you just put your numer in & it will tell you how much is owing.
We moved in last July, couldn't register the water in our name as we didn't have the Tapu.  The first reading & bill were taken in September & we were consequently cut off on the same day!  This was because the meter wasn't registered in anyones name & water was being used - so they just disconnected us - no "wait & see" if anyone did pay.
I have consequently set up auto-payments with the bank, so any bills to be paid are done so automatically.  So far...hassle free.
