Just a note! Read about the fires caused in the UK with the lanterns. Here in Turkey it could be a disaster. Usually at night at this time of year there is very little wind so unpredictable directions.. Ultra care needed. Right time right place we love em!!!

I understand to ignite these latterns you need a solid fuel block which usually comes with the latterns, kind of like a fire lighter. which I don't think would be allowed in your luggage, Check with your airline.
