Winter living

We have a stone built villa in Uzumlu which was very much built with summer living in mind. So far we have suffered the cold when we have been out for short spells in the colder months but next year we will be moving over to live. So I would be very interested to hear how others have overcome this problem and the cost of both installing and running some kind of system. We have a fireplace in the sitting room but even that needs attention before it is fit to use. Would appreciate any advice please and contacts if anyone can help.

On moving into our new home last Novemeber, we immediately changed the fireplace to house a large wood burning stove. We bought the fire (an Arrow, british manufactured) stove...the largest they had from a company called PUS in Fethiye, and Eris construction did all the necessary work to the fireplace and chimney. (The two companies worked together on the job). We have a 3 bedroomed house which is lovely and toasty all winter...very satisfied.
