Blimey what do people want!!! There was a male in a popular hairdressers, reported to be sexually assaulting clients and 48 hours later possibly thanks to this forum and sunnyd, now there is not. I'd call that a result. As for the police, you will need to PM those who have been assaulted to progress that.

It's pretty obvious from Sunnyd's last post that Burak was sacked after the first (person to person) complaint!
In the UK, we would expect the police to be called but we are in Turkey not the UK! The customers' who were affected could have called in the police if they so wished but Cihan has dealt with complaint in the way he saw appropriate and has probably learnt a big lesson as a result. If customers choose to not frequent the salon now .... that is there choice, so I don't see the point in raking over old ground. If people don't agree with the action taken, they will vote with their feet ... simple!

As I said I am saddened and still am that this man wasn't reported to the police either by the ladies it happened to or the owner of the shop. I have lived here for 5 years and am so shocked  to read this statement, 'we would expect the police to be called but we are in Turkey not the Uk'! Wow!!!

Actually Linda it is not pretty obvious, perhaps you should read the very first post again by Jackstee before making assumptions, he mentions last week and then another visit a week later on the 9th August were it is reported that Burak was still there, thus the clarification from Nikki was asked. For the record if it is as stated then Burak remained in his post after the complaint was made, thus meaning he took no action until Nikki's visit today, and I for one find that totally unacceptable.Everyone has a right to decide whether or not they give their custom to AS&C in future but a properly informed decision on it may be better after such a serious issue. What difference does it make whether it happened in the UK or Turkey it is still a subject the police will/can deal with, it's sexual assault, I have dealt with many cases in the UK which show that people like this can and do progress onto more serious offences, it is down to the complainants (victims) to take it further or not, not you or I regardless of it being in Turkey, although I would encourage and support it being reported to the police. On a personal level I wanted to know what action Cihan took after the complaint was made to him, like others clearly do, before I recommend his business to others (again) or my partner and daughter visit his place again as they do. It is a result he has been sacked unfortunately it is not a satisfactory result if it took possibly 1 single more sexual assault's to occur and over a week before action was finally taken from what I am reading, thus why clarification was requested.

Jackstee chose to publicise this rather than go to the police. This you can see from his opening post. You can respect his choice or take it up with him. I really don't know what else you are hoping for. People can indeed digest the 7 pages that are in full public view here and make their decision - that is in fact what happens.

When I spoke to Cihan today I spoke about this thread on the forum, the mentioning of their salon and the assistant Burak. I mentioned complaints about Buraks behaviour..... Cihan told me that he was only aware of a complaint (which I pressume was from Jackstee, wife and friend) as it was mentioned to him in person. He told me that he had dealt with the situation after the complaint was made, and as a result Burak was sacked. I confirmed this with another member of staff too.

I completely agree with Scunner in that a line should now be drawn. In order to respond to Corbindallas .... it is very obvious from Sunnyd's last post today, where she clarified once and for all that Burak had been sacked after the first complaint!
And to Karabag also .... I am not saying that I agree or disagree that the police haven't been invloved, it's just that you can't necessarily expect things to happen in the same way here as they would in the UK .... at the end of the day the customers who were affected could have called the police and it was they're decision that they chose not to! It is no good raking over old ground as the boy is no longer working there .....

Surely at the end of the day it would have been one persons word against there other, impossible to prove so what would be the point of the Police?
I will continue to use Cihan (when I'm there) because, as I said early, it is the best haircut around.  He's a lovely lad, has worked extremely hard to build up his business and shouldn't be flattened because he, unfortunately, hired a sleezeball.  He got rid of him when he understood what was going on and that should be enough.
If the lad tries to get another job hairdressing chances he won't be successful because everybody knows everything in Fethiye

It seems to me the result folks wanted has been achieved - ladies can now get their haircut without worrying if the guty is a pervert. Interestingly we had a very similar issue at the hammam in Ortaca and word very quickly got round and ladies stopped going so honestly i think these actions have probably saved the business which took a long time to build up.
Yes Mark it is LaDIva I recommended in Calis - a great cut , nice salon, convenient, well priced and all round good experience.

He was not sacked after the first complaints, he was still working there when my wife went back(not expecting to see him) and the following day when I went there.

Cripes - what an event.
Used to like the gents style - arms yanked out of sockets and ears flamed too. Sadly not enough left on the barnet to warrant a trip these days - like most of us i'll warrant ha ha.
Never mind glad its sorted girls!
