Rock Nights at Cafe Pazar!
« on: August 21, 2011, 05:40:09 AM »
There will be a live rock band at the Cafe Pazar on Thursday the 25th August 9:00pm. They are a Turkish band specialising in mainly rock music covers from the 60's to the present day. They have a realy good mix of music for all tastes. Their covers inlude works by Cream, Radiohead, REM, Clapton,Floyd, Bob Marley etc.
Well worth a look, I saw these guys a couple of weeks ago and they were great. Even though they were not advertised in advance so there were only a few customers there when they started, as soon as they started playing people seemed to drift in from everywhere and in half an hour the place was jumping.........

Sounds interesting!  Do you know the band's name?  Used to love a band who played in Alladins years ago...cannot recall their name right now but just wondering if it could be the same guys.

Don't think they have a name, they are all pretty young so I don't think it's the same band. The lead guitarist is Cenap's (the owner of Cafe Pazar,) nephew, they are all friends and just get together to perform when they can. They are a really talented bunch of guys though.

Hi  Can recommend this band, we previously called in Cafe Pazar and what a pleasant surprise to hear a live band playing such good music.  They played some of Eric Clapton and Cream music, it was fantastic. Wish we were there to hear them again.  :)

There used to be a really good rock band who played weekly in Aladdin Bar when the inimitable, one & only Omer, :D (Cowboy) ran it. I was honoured to be asked to sing with them on every occasion that they played. They were called; "PANZEHIR", & were based, I believe, in either Hisaronu, or Kaya Koy. The female lead singer had a very unusual, but spell-binding voice, & the lead guitarist was, well, just fantastic, my opinion, obviously !!

Thanks so much Philrose...we had a great night listening to some very talented young men.  No REM played but plenty of Cream, really good to hear that kind of music here...they were better than some bands who played in London pubs when we lived there!
GordonA - Panzehir were excellent, very tight.  BTW spoke to Cowboy last night...daft as ever lol.

Have to agree a great night, the place was packed and everyone seemed to enjoy it. No REM this week, but the Pink Floyd number was tremendous...
