I understand and wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments BM06, but surely one of the major points arising from this tradegy is not to forget holiday insurance notwithstanding the age of the participant.

H, I did not mean forget holiday insurance as in forget holiday insurance, I mean holiday insurance or any insurance will not cover anyone hiring/buying something you do not have a license to ride/drive etc.

I doubt there are many travel insurers who include cover for hospital fees for 10 year olds who crash mountain bikes.

Feel really sorry for the lad but the responsibility does land mainly on the parents.  And the instructor for allowing the lad to drive it.
They're are big, heavy machines and there's no way a lad of 10 could handle it.
