An absolutely fantastic night, the best ever, and George our auctioneer did an amazing job.

Thank you everyone who supported this event and a huge thanks to the  team who worked really hard not only on the night but in the weeks and days before to make this event run smoothly.   As Liz has said we hope to have raisied a record iro 12,000 TL but we have to wait for all of the money to come in before we can announce the final figure.  As a few items were being auctioned for Bozalan we hope to have paid for a few more desks.

Also a big thanks to Murat for his sponsored run which raised even more money for the children.

I will be e-mailing all of the commission bidders sometime today to let them know how they got on.

We had a great time and have to say as someone who has attended Auctions for over 20 years now, George was a great Auctioneer and said just the right things to encourage the bidding.  Think he missed his vocation in life.
Anyway, congraluations and well done to everyone concerned.   We would not have missed it.

Maybe so Jacqui, but his CBF AKA would have been a lot more boring

Thanks all for the compliments but I have to say that the team effort that goes on behind the scenes in order to make this happen is just phenomenal, it's a bit like Formula 1 where the car would never even reach the start line, let alone win a race but for the endless hard work and dedication of the team and that is exactly the case with the 3Cs. Well, we not only won the race, but if you liken our performance last night to F1 qualifying, we came in about 3 hours ahead of the second placed driver. It really was a super result. Let me just put in perspective how fierce the competition was to win some of the fantastic lots we auctioned last night, Chris had made a list of 9 items that she wanted to bid on and had decided the maximum amount she would be prepared to pay for each item, I was a bit shocked to learn that her 'shopping list' came to 1,500 lira !!! In the end she won just one item off her list, this just shows the fantastic quality of the 'Promises' we had on offer last night.

Anyway. I think it's time to lubricate my tonsils, I turned the microphone on at 4pm yesterday and turned it off at half past midnight, so if anyone needs a Barry White sound alike voice over, then I'm your man.

Finally, thanks to everyone for the generosity that you showed last night, whether by internet bid, there in person and even those who weren't bidding but gave a donation, one man walking past handed me a 100 lira note for the charity and the effort by Murat who ran from Oludeniz to Calis was sublime. All we have to do now is start working on how next year we can top this !!!

Bored with retirement?????I don't think so

Just an observation on my part but there have been members posting about fairly trivial matters today but have not congratulated the people behind this fabulous effort.

I just find that strange.
