Poorly duck
« on: May 17, 2012, 08:45:45 AM »
Animal aid took a very poorly duck that lives along the tow path by the Calis water taxis to Serkan vet yesterday.
He has a fungal infection in his ears that's spread to his eyes, most likely due to dirty water.
He's had some vaccinations and treatment in his ears.
There's 2 ducks there and they had tiny bowls of brown sludge, so we've given them a big blue bowl and asked the guys down there to keep an eye on the water and change it daily.
There's a hose right by. If anyone is down that way please can you check the water and change if necessary.
We're taking the little fella back to the vet today and fingers crossed he will pull through.

I did post on the Fethiye site that any ducks that need rehoming can come up to Nif to join our flock of ducks and geese. Large pond and housed at night.

We offered to take them to Nif today as their bowls were filthy again. no point paying for treatment and then they're left in filthy water, even a dead bird in their new large bowl.... Apparently they are owned and they said we can't remove them without permission.

Please can everyone look out for them, they're on the tow path by the water taxis behind the large Aries hotel. hey just need clean water every day.

They can't go into the river because their wings have been clipped so it really important their bowl is clean to prevent further infection.
He had another injection today and is a lot better.
