They just shoot themselves in the foot ALL the time......greed and jealousy always been the same .....I  feel for Guvens as they have worked a long time at getting it right and it's crap that they are just dictated to by an idiotic council.........

The prices of sun beds might be going up at most beach destinations but the turks need to look at the cost of getting to Turkey compared to many other destinations.....before long its going to to a no go zone......idiots.....

I am sure the chief at Ciftlik is soon gonna cotton on and realise he is loosing out, he could also rent you out a nice bar for the day:D: :): :): :)

Ciftlik council is one of several which are going to subsumed into Fethiye and so, yes, it is only a matter of time before the whole beach is pay as you go.

I guess it's only what happens all over the world really. Unless the beach is private then it's the councils that rake in the profit from the sun-bed hire. We go to the Algarve next week and will pay about 5 euros each per day for a sun-bed and not really complain.

One other option of course would be for the council to lease out the bit of beach near each bar that want's to provide beds. This would have to be recouped though by either charging for the beds or putting the prices of food and drink up.

I think what Carole was trying to say was that if people protest too much then the government might just look a little deeper into the beach bars (like the did in Marmaris) and knock lots of them down. Not a good result for any of us!

Yes. I was there today and the beach was busy.
I think he has come to some financial arrangement with the council.
Unfortunately, Efes is 150 lira a bottle.
