Buzz in Fethiye with Shaka
« on: May 28, 2012, 08:25:16 AM »
Went to the opening of a new restaurant on the cordon in Fethiye last night.
It is called Shaka and is owned by one of the Buzz Bar (Oludeniz) family.
It was absolutely fantastic and as some of the chefs and staff have moved there it's gotta be a hit.
The setting is great with lots of inside and outside seating to watch those fabulous sunsets.
Full meal service starts today and if the tasters we had are anything to go by it should be great food.
Drink prices were similar to the Buzz Bar and Osman Gurkan says he wants to specialize in wines.
It will be open all year so it will be fab for those of us who live here to have more choice of a good quality restaurant in the Winter.
It is near where the Tax Office/Cordon junction is.
Good luck to Osman and all the staff.

If you head along the Fethiye prom towards Calis it is past the Yakamoz and Bozacici and just after the raised wooden platforms.  Hope that helps.

Had a beer there this evening.
6.50T, unfortunately.

It is a nice looking place and staff were friendly.

Sounds very promising this  :)

What sort of menu is it?

(please no 'a red plastic one with lists of food' answers!)

We went for lunch today and it was very good.
Description of menu...modern with a range from breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, fish and steaks all done in a modern way. Prices we thought were reasonable for the food. Decor, setting, staff, music and ambience are original and modern. Most expensive steak was 30tl.
My one word description...classy.
We'll definitely be regulars.

Went on Sat night to have the full evening menu and it was all superb.  ;D
There were 4 of us and we had cocktails, beers, starters and main meals and it was all excellent. I had the peppered fillet steak and Eric had the creamy chicken. :P
Approx cost 65 tl each about £25 so we were all well impressed. The setting is fabulous for sunsets as well.
We were informed that they will also run a Free pick up service for 2 to 10 people from Fethiye, Calis and Ovacik and from 6 to 10 persons from Uzumlu. :D
Well worth a visit if you want a classy Brasserie style place to eat great food.
