The 6.0 figure has to be considered along with its depth - also its location was much farther south than the previous months ones - so may even be on a different fault. The colour coding used by the experts gives a better idea of severity. http://www.koeri.boun.edu.tr/sismo/

According to Hurriyet newspaper, it happened close to Rhodes.

Was in Fethiye shopping,at the time of the quake,with my friend Carol and never felt a thing.First time I heard of it was when I logged on to the forum tonight.

3 of us sitting on our terrace Calis and really did feel it and it seemed to last for about seconds.

Yep felt it here in Koca Calis on our balcony . Hubby sitting opposite never felt it ,but it only lasted seconds.

5.6 on Quakefeed. If you go on that site you will see there are many per day but most are below 3.0.
