John - lets hope you finding Alan was the start of his recovery.

Like everyone else we still have everything crossed here for a dear friend.

I had the pleasure of meeting him on my visit last year. I too, wish him a full and speedy recovery. Come on Alan, you can do it!

So so sad, Alan would hate this, after all he has come through over the last few years, all to prolong his life.

hi its guy, alans son. I dont usually post on the forum i never seem to get time being a nurse im always working  :) but i cant believe this threat is seven pages long, i want to express my heartfelt thanks for all of the support and kindness youve shown, and to thankyou for being my dads friends, whenever he came to the uk i could never get a word in about my own news because my dad was talking about all of you, a lot ive met, some like scunner, pookie etc i feel i know through all of the stories and happy memories my dad shared.

ive met highlander and all i can say is what an amazing person he is, that hes been coming here and sharing news has made my troubles so much easier, im informed that highlander has had a personal loss too and this must be so hard for him and i can never truely express how deeply moved i am by your kindness.

then theres john hulme, he found my dad and got in the house to get him to the hospital, what can i say about this man could never describe just how much he means to all of us, john you are like a brother to my dad, a best friend, he loved his football sessions with you, not to mention the meri bar sessions!!!!

barbara and lisa and muzzy, i know dont use the forum but theyve been through it with us, taking us to the hospital, translating.

rindaloo another i cant thank enough, she was always there for my dad with her wonderful husband dave, ive met people through my dad that i will cherish for the rest of my life.

I wish i could give you all good news and say my dad will get better but the doctor has told us if he recovers his brain will be fully active but his body will only ever be able to blink, my dad wouldnt want that, its heartbreaking but the emotion i felt when i logged onto this forum has made me feel so much better and i can never thank you all enough, im proud to be a part of this community, and im proud to be my fathers son,

my dad was and is amazing, when 2 of his sons came out that they were gay he didnt bat an eye lid, he accepted us all no matter what, when i had cancer when i was 22 he never once let me fear it and was there for me. anyone can have kids, but being a father, thats something that not everyone has the ability to do, my dad wasnt just my father but my best friend, and im glad you all were a part of his life, i thankyou all!!!!
