Guy, its simple really, everyone who meets Alan, likes him. His spirit, humour and twinkle leaves a lingering impression.  He is a proud man and he is proud of his lovely sons.  It's patently obvious how close you all are.  People are stunned and much saddened by what has happened.  And people feel so helpless.  We all want you to know how much we care.  Thanks so much for your lovely message here.  Hugs (as always) to you all.

Hi Guy,

Thanks for a lovely post mate. I met you once or twice when I took your Dad to the airport to pick you up etc. I am so sorry to hear about your Dad's plight and I truly hope he is not suffering any pain through all this!! He is a fighter, always has been and always will be so I will keep praying for a miracle for him.

Like you say in your post Guy, your Dad is loved by everybody in Calis and all that know him through this forum. I have never met anybody who has a bad word to say about him. Even the non-City fans love him!!!

Keep your chin up Guy and keep talking to him, he will take great encouragement from your words.

Keep fighting Alan, Calis needs you mate xxx

I have never met Alan, but his sons words have truly moved me. I hope that he is not in pain, and that he makes a miracle recovery. X

I think Rindi said it beautifully Guy......quite simply, your Dad is a remarkable Man, we could all learn a lot from his courage, his determination, his sense of humour and his 'naughty' twinkle.  You only need to meet him once to know what a special person he is.  We all feel so useless, and it is heartbreaking to hear your news, but please take comfort from the love of his friends.  We are all here for you, for Dad, your Brothers and family.  Be sure to send everyone's love when you speak to him - he will be listening and will no doubt think we're all a sentimental lot of wallies......but tell him anyway !.   Pookie sized hugs and love xxxx

Guy

I know what it must have taken to write that post and that the tears will probably have been flowing with each word.

But in doing so, you have shown immense courage. The kind of courage that your dad and all of his family will need to keep showing.

I suspect that there will be many on here and elsewhere who, like me, have sat down three of four times and tried to express what we truly want to say. But words seem to fail us at times like these and they could never express the deepness of our sorrow anyway.

One thing I do know however is that the love and support Brenda and I received from this Forum was totally overwhelming.

Every word that so many people wrote was a comfort to us and helped us through the darkest of times.

There is nothing I can say other than try and stay strong and rest as much as you can.

With tears of sadness.

H

A father could not wish for a better tribute to be paid to him from a son or daughter and a son could not wish for more from a parent. God bless you both.
