Just got back and had 2 days at the Sat. I was suprised to be charged for beds but as we pay for beds on the main beach it didnt bother us and at least there is beach service. We ate both days there and its not the cheapest, in fact the wine is the dearest on the beach but the views and ambience are to die for! We havent been to the Mosaic place and I actually found it this year for the first time. I dont think you can compare the whole package. I bet the food is amazing there judging by the reports but for views and setting I dont think the Sat can be beaten. As for Calis dying , having just spent 2 weeks there eating in busy restaurants every night, this was our 23rd year in Calis and I've seen it far quiter than this and it survived!

Agreed Cavan. We only ate on the front a few nights but it was pretty busy. Compared very well to previous years. I know Guvens had a couple of mega busy nights last week.

Both the new Jiva Hotel and Seaside were busy as well. Surf Cafe had lots in every day as far as I could tell from the buzz on the beach down there.

I wasn't' comparing the whole package with Sat and Mozaic - but if you want me to ........... the latter was by far the better value and better meal. Of course it can't compete with the views from the Sat but then again it looks like we paid about and extra 50 or 60 ytl for them.

Are there any thoughts on who is making it busy? I understand many more Russians come now but also Turkish holiday makers particularly from Istanbul and Ankara have more money to splash about than in past years. I'd be surprised if it is British visitors, as flight and hotel booking info suggests they are well down.

Without a shadow of a doubt it is the Turkish holiday makers that have been here in big numbers Fethiye Oludeniz, Yes! even Hisaronu is heavy with Turkish folk this year. Weekend along the Kordon is heaving with Turkish folk and their big cars 48 plates and loads of others from all over. Making a great atmosphere. Our neighbours in Ovacik are becoming Turkish too on a resale. 2014 is the year that property prices will start to rise as the new countries start to explore areas of Turkey, or so we hear.

That's what I thought and good to hear. Turkish holidaymakers I found to be good fun in the main - in more recent times. I remember only too well the Turkish restaurant and bar owners who hated Turkish customers who would come in 10 strong and order a large bottle of water and 10 glasses!

We flew back to Bristol last night (sadly) and both our outbound and inbound flights were full..not a spare seat anywhere :-) chatting to people at airport, got the impression a fair few were heading to / had stayed around Calis area as well as Icmeler/Marmaris. Though we dont go out every night when we did there still seemed plenty of people around down in Calis. Hope that continues for the bars/restaurants until the end of the season  :)
