Easyjet--Is extra bag of Duty Free still allowed ?
« on: September 15, 2012, 10:54:24 AM »
Can't find a reference to the extra bag of duty free   hand luggage allowance which used to be on the Easyjet website. Is it now strictly one piece of hand luggage with no extra bag ? Had no problem with extra bag in June.

On EJ you are allowed 1 piece of hand luggage + 1 bag of duty free stuff purchased at the airport.

Thank-you Bewva but still cannot find that allowance written  on their website today. It definitely was in black and white in the past !

When we flew out  with EJ in May from Manchester we were told when we got to the gate that everything, including duty free, had to be inside one bag only.  Hence much scrabbling about and stuffing things into bags between us!  Whether this changes with different airports I don't know, don't think we risked it at Dalaman coming home.

This link shows it;
http://easyjet.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4049

No weight restriction applies however you must be able to place and retrieve the item of baggage safely in the overhead lockers without assistance. Small items must be placed underneath the seat in front

An overcoat, shawl, umbrella, crutches or walking frame/stick and one standardised bag of goods purchased at the departure airport may also be carried in addition to the one item allowance.

Thanks everyone,especially Bewva.  Have now printed the info to show at Manchester if necessary. Relieved! My OH can take his whisky now,as usual. No idea why I missed those few words several times when I read Easyjet website.
