I was told that the area now occupied by the Guitar Bar was once a bit of a dick pond.

I must also say that with many years experience of Calis, I have no idea who the "bangle man" might be

He is a very badly crippled man, almost bend double who walks with the aid of two small walking sticks.  He has a tray around his neck with bangles.  He is usually accompanied by his young daughter.  I always think its very dignified that he does not beg, but offers something for sale.   Whenever we see him, I always buy a bracelet from him.
