Peat, you are looking at £500 for flghts, the long, long journey Dingwall to Bristol
8 hours 44 minutes 540 miles. Plus you have to park your car and get to the Airport two hours before your journey, so you can write off a whole day to travel (just to the Airport).  Then you have petrol money there and back and possibly two nights stay.  As said before this will probably mean taking extra days holiday if you are at work and so for most of us is not feasible.desirable or cost effective.

Another option is to compare prices with the nearest international airport to Dalaman - no, not Antalya or Bodrum...Rhodes!

You can do a day or two in Rhodes then get the boat across to Fethiye. Don't look at it as a longer or more complicated journey - look at it as a two centre holiday

The reason for the difference in flight costs from Scottish airports is that British airlines planes are all registered at Gatport Airwick, thus the 'G' in the registration numbers/letters on the aircraft. The fuel costs are priced at Gatwick also. Aviation fuel is obviously more expensive at Gatport Airwick, ergo, the flight costs are more expensive the farther away the departure airport is from Gatport Airwick !!
