A Pointless Question With a Point
« on: March 13, 2013, 21:41:20 PM »
The point being inflation.

Now that's out of the way...

We used to save up for not too long to buy Subbuteo teams, stadium parts and accessories.  It was not a huge expense for a team. Today, I spotted a Subbuteo team for the first time in what must be 25 years. The price surprised me.

Glasgow Rangers (Home kit), for sale in window of independent, singular toy shop.

How much was it?

The older sets make good money.   I bought a World Cup set for my son when he was about 10 years old and it was an old, secondhand set then.   He always says he is keeping it, as it  will appreciate in value all the time.  However, having said that, he is keeping it in our house not his !!!    This is a big set with the football stadium, lights, stands etc., and quite a few sets of players.

This was a brand new set - H spoilt my question really with his £12.50 guess (which I think he pitched ridiculously high for a laugh). Answer is £12.99 - I could hardly believe it.
