Hi Highlander we were in Fethiye  3 or 4 years ago, had a couple of days at 48 C. Thought the sea breeze was nice till I took a deep sniff of the breeze, and it felt like opening the oven door and taking in the blast, however we would rather have that than shivering or drowning back in blighty. ;D

It's also worth considering how and where these blistering temperatures are measured, we were in Fethiye before 09.00 this morning and the temperature on the new clock tower in the town square was reading 23 degrees. The actual temperature was around 18 degrees.

I only made an observation, that it was usually warmer than it is currently.  Today was a tad warmer, by the afternoon it was clammy hot, tonight I am freezing once more!!
We left home Friday morn temps were 16-18c (sunny south), my garden here in Turkey is green but I noted that the buds are still not ripen, the weeds are thriving!
The climates world wide are to pot.

roll on climate change we were told we would see med summers in britain but all we see is rising taxes,no sign of the med summers
so they changed the name from global warming to climate change,so they can tax us if it gets colder or warmer,as jim royle
says climate change my arse.

Some pic's
Our small garden in Paspatur.

The crimson bourgenvill is always the first of our 4 to flower and very prolific this year. The pink and yellow ones will "flower" in about two weeks.
